Speakers
Elizabeth Pantley, is a parenting educator and
the author of The No Cry Sleep Solution and six other books.
Her newest book is The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and
Preschoolers. She is president of Better Beginnings, Inc.,
a family resource and education company. Elizabeth frequently speaks
to parents in schools, hospitals, and parent groups, and her presentations
are received with enthusiasm and praise. She and her husband, Robert,
live in the state of Washington with their four children.
Hilary Flower lives in St. Petersburg, Florida
with her husband and their three children. She is the author the
popular Adventures in Tandem Nursing: Breastfeeding
During Pregnancy and Beyond (published by LLLI), based on
her own tandem nursing experience, interviews with over 200 mothers,
and delving into the related medical and nutritional research. This
summer her second LLLI book made its debut: Adventures
in Gentle Discipline: A Parent-to-Parent Guide. The first
gentle discipline book to celebrate parents the experts, this book
is a collection of mothers' wisdom organized around the basic building
blocks of gentle discipline. A free-lance writer, her essays have
appeared in many magazines, including Mothering Magazine,
Salon.com, and Brain,Child. She holds an M.A. in Geological
Sciences from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and
a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, but by far her
most profound education has come from the intimate challenges and
joys of mothering and homeschooling.
Marcia Lutostanski, LLLI Representative, is Chairman
of the 2005 LLLI Board of Directors. Marcia has been a member of
LLL since 1984 when she attended her first meeting. She was accredited
in 1989 and was elected to the LLLI Board in 2000. She has been
a Leader in Malaysia, Brazil, Japan and the US. Her previous positions
in LLL were Associate Coordinator of Leader Accreditation for Future
Areas in Asia and District Coordinator. She has degrees in psychology
and nursing and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
She and her husband, John, have three children, ages 14-20. As a
mother, Leader and public health nurse, Marcia would like to see
all mothers and babies, no matter their country, language or economic
situation, receive the best breastfeeding information, encouragement
and support that LLL can provide. Marcia's favorite quote is, "We
must be the change we wish to see in the world."
Anne Boyd is the Regional Administrator for Leader
Accreditation for the Southern Region. She has been an LLL Leader
since 1993, and is the mother of four children, ages 14-2. She directs
the Childbirth Educator Program at a local community college school
of nursing.
